This morning in the parliamentary chamber, a heated situation arose in the parliament due to Deputy Minister Sanath Nishantha snatching some documents from the hands of opposition leader Sajith Premadasa.
Based on the court ruling that the group including Mahinda Rajapaksa, Basil Rajapaksa, Gotabaya Rajapaksa were responsible for bankrupting the country, the opposition prepared a resolution to abolish the civic rights of that group, and when the opposition leader was going to table it, the Deputy Minister Sanath Nishantha snatched it away.
Political sources indicate that this kind of obstruction has not happened in the history of the Sri Lankan Parliament. Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa has said in front of the speaker that his privileges have been violated by this incident.
