Red rice shortage not resolved

The sale of red rice at the government-controlled price was carried out today under the leadership of the Ambalangoda Trade Association. At that time, arrangements were made to provide 5 kilos of rice to each person at a price of Rs. 220 per kilo.

Although people have been queuing since morning to buy this rice, many have returned empty-handed due to the limited quantity of rice. Many people are in distress due to the shortage of red rice in the Southern Province, where there is a high demand for red rice.

There are also allegations that some shops are selling rice above the controlled price.
