Former President Ranil Wickremesinghe arrived at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) for a short time (around 2.30 pm on June 11). Our correspondent said that the former President arrived in this manner following a notice to appear before the CID to give a statement in relation to a complaint filed by former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella.
Mr. Keheliya Rambukwella has submitted a complaint to the CID regarding the import of substandard medicines and several ministers of the previous government have given statements in relation to it before the CID.
CID sources stated that a statement is to be obtained from former President Ranil Wickremesinghe regarding the collective responsibility of the Cabinet regarding the incident.
