An investigation has been initiated at the Narahenpita Police Station on a report received at the Narahenpita Police Station regarding a shooting at a jeep in the Kirimandala Mawatha area of the Narahenpita Police Division on the night of 17.05.2025.
Thusitha Halloluwa, a former director of the National Lottery Board, was injured in the shooting and is currently receiving treatment at the National Hospital. He made a controversial statement the other day that President Anura Dissanayake had invested money in a Greek shipping company and the Criminal Investigation Department is also conducting an investigation into this.
No one was injured in the shooting and only the jeep was damaged. The Narahenpita Police Station has recorded the statements of the injured.
He stated that while the jeep was moving, two unknown persons on a motorbike stopped the jeep, shot at it, intimidated it, opened its doors, attacked Thusitha Halloluwa and the other person, and fled with a bundle of letters in Thusitha Halloluwa’s possession.
The Narahenpita Police and the Colombo Crimes Division are conducting further investigations into this incident and to arrest the suspects.
