No Matter Which Government Comes to Power, Indian Projects Will Not Stop

India’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. S. Jaishankar, stated that regardless of which government comes to power in Sri Lanka in the next election, projects such as renewable energy initiatives funded by India will continue to be implemented in the same way.

During his visit to Sri Lanka, the Indian Foreign Minister, in addition to official bilateral discussions, also held meetings with former President Mahinda Rajapaksa. He also had separate discussions with Namal Rajapaksa, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) founder Basil Rajapaksa, and opposition leader Sajith Premadasa.

During the discussions, he specifically mentioned renewable energy projects, including solar energy projects, the grid connectivity project, and the proposed petroleum pipeline between India and Sri Lanka. He emphasized that it should be ensured that these projects are carried out continuously under any government that comes into power after the upcoming presidential election.
