Manusha and Hareen’s Petition is over.

The hearing on the petitions submitted by Ministers Harin Fernando and Manusha Nanayakkara, demanding that the decision taken by the Samagi Jana Balawega to revoke their party membership is illegal, and to issue an order annulling the said decision, ended today. But the announcement of its decision was postponed today (23) indefinitely by the Supreme Court.

When the trial began today, President’s Attorney Faizer Mustapha, who presented the case again on behalf of Minister Manusha Nanayakkara, stated that according to the constitution of the Samagi Jana Balawega, the power to take disciplinary action regarding the membership has been assigned to its working committee.

The three-judge bench of the Supreme Court, which took into account all the facts presented, then closed the hearing of the petition and postponed the announcement of its decision indefinitely.

The petition hearing was held before the three-judge bench of the Supreme Court comprising of Justices Vijith Malalgoda, Achala Wangappuli and Arjuna Obeysekera.
