The Indian Army contingent participating in the annual joint military exercise ‘Mitrashakti’ reached Mattala Airport yesterday. The exercise is scheduled to be held in Maduru Oya until the 25th of this month.
Major General Vajira Welagedara, Director of Military Exercise Mitrashakti Major General Dinesh Udugama, Indian High Commission officials and senior officials welcomed the Indian Army personnel who arrived there.
Colonel Ravindra Alawat will represent the Indian battalion comprising of 17 Commanding Officers and 103 other ranks of the Gajaba Regiment along with 18 officers and 120 other ranks of the Sri Lanka Army in this exercise.
