The Sri Lankan Embassy in Lebanon has made necessary arrangements to evacuate 55 Sri Lankan workers working in Lebanon from Lebanon on a group basis.
Issuing a statement, the Sri Lankan Embassy said that the evacuations are being carried out in collaboration with the International Organization for Migration (IOM) considering the risks they are facing due to the ongoing conflict with Israel.
Accordingly, a group of 26 Sri Lankans arrived in Sri Lanka yesterday (04) evening.
Israel threatened on Tuesday to return to the war in Lebanon if a ceasefire with Hezbollah breaks down, saying its attacks would go deeper into Lebanon this time after a deadly day since the ceasefire was reached last week.
