The government has planned to implement a program to establish new hotels across the island to ensure food security for the people and provide them with the opportunity to obtain quality and sufficient food at a reasonable price.
The National Food Promotion Board, the Ministry of Health and the Ministry of Agriculture are to jointly implement this program with the support of businessmen who currently operate hotels and restaurants, and its first model hotel is to be opened in Narahenpita on April 1st.
Meanwhile, a program to improve the standards of the currently operated restaurants is to be implemented as the second phase.
