Deputy Minister of Industrial Development Mahinda Jayasinghe today undertook an inspection tour of the cinnamon processing factory in the Horana Industrial Estate, which was destroyed by fire in the Boralugoda Industrial Estate, Horana
After inspecting the disaster-hit area of the factory, he said that the government will provide full support to restart the factory damaged by the fire. Responding to questions raised by journalists present there, he said:
”Today, I participated in this event representing the Ministry of Labour. Earlier, Deputy Minister of Industries Chathuranga Abeysinghe also inspected this factory. This is really a new experience for our new government.
We spoke to the owners of the factory. This factory is a factory that has brought in a large amount of foreign exchange to the country. This is a time when the country needs more dollars. “We, the Ministry of Industry and the Ministry of Labour, are looking forward to taking a decision on the next steps in this regard from two sides. As a government, we are providing our full support in this regard.”
