St. Aloysius College, Galle recorded a resounding victory by defeating Devapathiraja College, Rathgama in the final of the Under-19 Inter-Schools Division 1 Limited Overs Tournament that concluded yesterday at the Surrey Stadium, Maggona.
Invited to bat first, St. Aloysius College was in serious trouble at one stage when their front line fell for 108 runs with 6 wickets. At that time, Oshadha Devinda and Sasindu Madusara, who played a defensive innings, put together an unbroken century partnership for the 7th wicket and brought their school to a strong position. Accordingly, Aloysius College was able to score 211 runs for 6 wickets in the allotted 50 overs.
Oshadha Devinda scored 78 runs in 109 balls with 6 fours and 2 sixes while Sasindu Madusara scored 53 runs in 58 balls with 4 fours and a six.
