Former Minister Duminda Dissanayake has been arrested in connection with the investigations being conducted into the ownership of the gold-plated T-56 firearm found in the Havelock City super housing complex.
The former minister was arrested by the Police Terrorism Investigation Division while he was in a housing complex in the Thimbirigasyaya area.
The gold-plated T-56 firearm was found last Tuesday, and two women have now been arrested on suspicion in connection with it. The arrests were made based on the information revealed during the interrogations carried out in this regard.
