The Association of Government Medical Officers says that a strike is underway in many hospitals in the island today (13) against the government’s new tax policy.
The union further said that this professional action will be done based on the government’s new tax policy, increase in interest rates, increase in electricity bill and public employee problems.
Although the Government Medical Officers’ Association did not join the professional strikes that took place last week, they are going to join the protests. Accordingly, these strikes will be implemented from 08 this morning in connection with all the hospitals in the Western, Southern, Central and Eastern provinces.
