In conjunction with the “Clean Sri Lanka” project, the Sri Lanka Police has been instructed by the Inspector General of Police to implement two traffic projects to reduce traffic accidents and traffic congestion.
The first operation will focus on vehicles that are running with different tones horns, flashing lights with different tones, illegal installations, loud horns, loud silencers, and the installation of additional parts that increase the risk of accidents
The second operation will involve the deployment of intelligence agents to uncover traffic violations committed by drivers while operating public transport buses and then enforce the law for those violations.
This operation will be implemented as a pilot project for two weeks from 2025.01.04 to 2025.01.19 with the aim of raising awareness among drivers and the public, during which drivers will be warned and informed.
Drivers will be instructed to remove the extra parts installed in vehicles from their vehicles during this first operation.
It is expected that this method will be implemented continuously in the future, and I would like to inform you that action will be taken to enforce the law regarding the offenses committed by installing extra parts in vehicles and driving them and by deploying intelligence agents to public transport buses to obtain information.
