Another judge withdraws from cricket case

Today, another judge has left the bench that was appointed to hear the petition filed by the Sports Minister against the Cricket Interim Committee. Accordingly, a new panel of judges has been appointed to hear the petition.

This petition today Summoned before the Court of Appeal bench comprising of D.N Samarakoon and Neil Iddawela. Judge Neil Iddawela, a member of the bench, said that he would withdraw from the hearing of this petition.

Accordingly, the relevant petition was forwarded to the President of the Court of Appeal, Judge Nishanka Bandula Karunaratne, to name a new panel of judges for the hearing of the petition. Three judges have withdrawn from this trial so far.

Then this petition was called before the President of the Court of Appeal, Judge Nishanka Bandula Karunaratne, to name a new bench. Accordingly, the Appellate Court Chairman stated that the relevant petition will be considered before the new Appellate Court Bench of Judges Sobitha Rajakaruna and DN Samarakoon. Accordingly, this petition will be reconsidered next Monday (20).
