President Anura Kumara Dissanayake has appointed Air Vice Marshal Sampath Thuyekontha as the new Defense Secretary.
He retired from the Sri Lanka Air Force on 26 November 2021 after completing 33 years of service. Tuyakontha was born on November 26, 1966 in Colombo and is a former student of Thurston College, Colombo.
