5 more state ministers are removed

President Ranil Wickramasinghe has taken steps to remove five state ministers from their positions with immediate effect.

The Presidential Media Division stated that 05 State Ministers, including the State Minister for Women and Children’s Affairs Geeta Kumarasinghe, have been removed from their posts.

Accordingly, the rest of the people who were removed are State Minister of Irrigation and Water Supply Shashindra Rajapaksa, State Minister of Urban Development and Housing Amit Thenuka Vidanagamage, State Minister of Small and Medium Enterprise Development Prasanna Ranaweera and State Minister of Power and Energy D.V. Those who go to Chanaka.

It is said that the removals have been done in accordance with Article 47 (3) (a) of the Constitution.
