Agriculture Minister Mahinda Amaraweera will open the ”Kithul Piyasa” prepared in Eheliyagoda area for the promotion of Kithul products today (12). In order to further increase the Kitul production industry, the Minister will also meet the farmers and distribute the necessary equipment sets to them today.
Dr. Yasanta Mapatuna, director of the Ministry of Agriculture’s SAPP or Small-Scale Agribusiness Participation Program, said that by exporting Kitul products, it is possible to earn a large amount of foreign exchange every month.
Kitul honey, Kitul hakuru and Kitul ra produced under the Eheliyagoda Kitul production project are currently being exported to four countries including the United States of America, Dubai, Switzerland and Oman.
Apart from this, the minister is also scheduled to monitor the Eheliyagoda mushroom project and the export-based Nai Miris project.
