It is stated that recommendations have been made to the Constituent Assembly to appoint Douglas Nanayakkara, a retired administrative officer, as the Chairman of the Public Utilities Commission.
Douglas Nanayakkara is a member of that commission and he has been a member of that commission since July last year. Former President Janaka Ratnayake was dismissed from office by the majority vote of the Parliament on the 24th.
