Broadcasting Regulation Act is being prepared by taking the opinions of media organizations – says the Minister of Justice

Minister of Justice Wijedasa Rajapaksa said that no final decision has been taken yet on the establishment of the Broadcasting Regulatory Commission.

The minister added that the ministerial sub-committee appointed to prepare a system to regulate the granting of licenses for radio and television channels has only prepared a series of proposals so far.

He said that in the future this matter will be discussed with all media organizations and the final document will be drafted only after getting the opinions of all the parties. He said this while speaking at a press conference held today.
