The Consumer Affairs Authority has issued a new gazette notice fixing the price of eggs by weight. Accordingly, effective from today (20), a kilo of white eggs will be 880 rupees and a kilo of brown eggs will be 920 rupees. It is priced accordingly.
In the gazette announcement, the maximum retail price for one egg has been fixed and the price has been fixed as 44 rupees for a white egg and 46 rupees for a brown egg.
