Today morning (27th) Weliara in Tangalle police domain In Netolpitiya area, a female agricultural research officer was attacked and killed with a sharp weapon, said the Thangalle police.
She works in the same area of her residence and this murder took place today while she was going for field duties from home. It is reported that this killing was done due to the escalation of a dispute over fertilizer that happened the previous day.
A spokesman for the Tangalle police told our website that a person known as 41-year-old Jayawardena Pathiranage Sarath or ‘Danny Baby’ was arrested on suspicion of murder.
