A South Korean warship arrives in Sri Lanka

It is reported that the warship ‘Gwanggaeto the Great’ belonging to the South Korean Navy arrived at the port of Colombo this morning (26). The Korean Ambassador to Sri Lanka was also present at the event.

The South Korean Navy said that the ship arrived in Sri Lanka with the aim of developing defense cooperation with South Asian stakeholders under the Indo-Pacific strategy.

This is a ship belonging to the anti-piracy unit of the Korean Navy, whose mission is to provide collective security, counter-terrorism operations, and the security of Korean and other ships.

About a week ago, a warship of the Indian Navy arrived in Sri Lanka and yesterday the controversial Chinese inspection ship also arrived in Sri Lanka.
