A new law against money laundering and terrorist financing

President Ranil Wickremesinghe said that Sri Lanka’s next approach to preventing money laundering and terrorist financing will be implemented soon.

He added that this directly affects the country’s ease of doing business, business ranking, and ability to attract foreign investment.

The President emphasized that as a first step, it is important to quickly identify the gaps in the existing law against money laundering and terrorism financing, and if that is not possible, there is a risk of Sri Lanka being listed as a country with strategic deficiencies once again.

President Ranil Wickremesinghe mentioned this while addressing the National Bar Conference held yesterday at Nuwara Eliya Grand Hotel.
