A huge allocation of 5.6 billion rupees to buy medicines

Health and Industry Minister Dr. Ramesh Pathirana says that the Ministry of Health has allocated a significant sum of 5.6 billion rupees from the treasury for the purchase of medicines.

The Minister expressed these views at a special conference held yesterday with the aim of identifying the challenges in hospitals and health institutions under the Ministry of Health. The aim of the conference was to facilitate quick and effective solutions to these problems, especially those affecting primary hospitals.

The lack of health care professionals including doctors and nurses in major hospitals and regional facilities, and the lack of available medicines were the focus of the conference.
