It is reported that MP Anura Priyadarshana Yapa will be the leader of the new political alliance started by MP Nimal Lansa.
Political sources say that the MPs who are already part of the new alliance have decided to appoint Anura Priyadarshana as the leader of the new alliance.
It is reported that 69 MPs who were elected to Parliament from various parties are currently working as independent MPs, and 32 of them have already joined the new alliance and decided to support Ranil Wickremesinghe in the next presidential election.
Susil Premajayant, Sudarshani Fernandopulle, John Senaviratne, Priyankara Jayaratne and others have already decided to work together in the new alliance. According to the report, several MPs currently representing the Samagi Jana Balavega and the Sri Lanka Freedom Party are also scheduled to join this alliance early next year.
However, it is also reported that several MPs representing minor parties have bypassed MP Nimal Lansa and met the President directly.
Political sources say that some unexpected changes are going to happen in the politics of Sri Lanka by the end of December and after that the members of the new alliance will appear in public.
